About the event

Today’s RAF is the UK’s aerial, peacekeeping and fighting force. It’s made up of full-time Regulars and spare-time Reserves who come from diverse backgrounds and work side-by-side to make a difference at home and abroad. When it comes to recruitment their focus is attracting the best people - as of Oct 2023 there are 32,180 active personnel - and ensuring they’re well taken care of during and after their service in the RAF.

The RAF offer over 50 careers for professionals ranging from weapons systems operators to aircraft technicians; nursing officers to engineering officers; pilots to logistic officers; and flight operations officers to chefs.

The session:

The session is generally 40-60 minutes in length

Although the RAF team have delivered to groups of 100+, they find that smaller groups are better to impact as it enables more interaction with students, more questioning etc

The RAF Association is based in Newark, and looking for schools easily accesable to that area.

The sessions are aimed at students in Year 9 and above.
